Hi everyone! I got a little behind on doing my journal, but I did it today, so here I am with my entry!
Before we were saved we had blueprints that caused us to sin and do evil things. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we were given new blueprints that were for following God and serving Him alone.
We still have the old blueprints, though which gives us a choice – to serve our flesh and fall into sin or to serve Christ and have a peace and joy that goes beyond all understanding.
As Christians – sons and daughters of the King – we should be seeking to please Him and Him alone. God is my Father and as I wish to please my earthly father so also should I wish to please my Heavenly Father.
This means that I have to choose my God given blueprints so I can serve Him properly and throw away the old ones – dying to myself and the desires of my flesh to live in Christ and fulfill the desires He has for me.
“…His blueprints, not her elementary scribbling; God’s assignment, not her foolish plans…”
Hi everyone! I hope you all are well I’m here again with another journal entry – I hope you enjoy it
Sometimes I do feel like I’m spending time with God or listening to praise music out of routine and not really because I want to.
I want to be in a place where my main focus is Jesus and trying to please Him and Him alone. I think part of getting to that place is by routine. Forcing yourself to indulge in God’s Word on a daily basis until you feel like you have to do it – not out of duty, but because of your intimate love for Jesus and your desire to learn more about Him and what He has to say.
People in a relationship devote their entire being to each other – all they can think about is their true love and their deepest desire is to please each other and learn more about who they are.
As Christians our true love is God and we should be devoting our heart and soul and time to Him so that we can learn, serve, and love Him more.
“Has your faith been a lifeless ritual rather than a vital love relationship with Jesus?”
I got a book recently called Lady in Waiting – it’s about becoming the right woman while you wait for the right man to come. This book was absolutely amazing and now I’m doing the journal that was included in the expanded edition of the book. It takes sections from the chapters and gives you space to journal your thoughts. And I thought that I would share with you what I write down and at the end I will put a quote from the book
Single or married, man or woman, young or old – we all have unrealistic expectations that “fill in the blank” will make us happy. Maybe it will for a time, but ultimately God is the One who fulfills us, sustains, completes, and satisfies us.
I have thought myself that being in a relationship would make me happy and complete. Sadly, no one here on earth can completely satisfy us – they will always let us down and prove to be a disappointment in some way or another.
However sad this may be, it’s nothing to be upset about because we have God – He loves us, cherishes us, strengthens us, upholds us – He is everything. He is all that we need. He makes us complete – we only have to be willing to accept that and strong enough to never let the smallest doubt sway us from the truth.
“Fulfillment for a Christian woman begins with the Lordship of Christ in every area of her life.”
